Refugee Insights - DON'T ASK ME WHAT TRIBE I'M FROM 부족을 묻지 말라

<Refugee Insights> is a monthly event hosted by HANOKERS, a refugee-led initiative, which takes place on the last Sunday of every month.  <Refugee Insights> is an attempt to shed light on the perspective of refugees who have intimate knowledge of the conditions in their home countries, the dynamics of the conflicts and the factors that led to their displacement while bringing unique cultural insights.

 <Refugee Insight> 는 난민 주도 이니셔티브 ‘한옥커즈’가 주최하는 월례 행사로, 매월 마지막 주 일요일 난민들이 이끄는 토크세션과 문화행사로 이루어집니다. 한국 난민활동가들과 시민들을 대상으로 난민들이 직접 본국의 정치사회적 상황과 강제이주를 발생시킨 주변국과의 갈등과 분쟁의 역학에 대해 공유, 발표하고, 나아가 상호문화적 이해를 도모하는 자리입니다.

✨Join us in the sixth Refugee Insights event, where our speaker Bereket will uncover the root causes of Ethiopia's political challenges. He will share a firsthand account about the profound impact of the politicization of tribal identity in Ethiopia, which has been marred by the shadows of its worst civil war in decades. While day-to-day conflicts have sadly become a new normal, at the heart of this upheaval lies the contentious concept of "Ethnic federalism," an ideology that has proven to be failed, sowing discord rather than fostering unity between different ethnic communities in Ethiopia.

여섯번째 난민 인사이트에 여러분을 초대합니다. 한옥커즈 공동대표이자 사진작가, 인권활동가인 베레켓이 수십년간 이어진 내전의 그림자가 드리워진 에티오피아의 정치적 상황과 종족/부족(tribe) 간 분쟁의 근본적인 원인에 대해 공유합니다. 집단 정체성의 정치화가 국지적인 분쟁이 일상이 되는 현실을 초래하는 가운데, 베레켓은,  "민족/종족 연방주의"라는 실패한 이데올로기가 어떻게 화합을 촉진하는 대신 분쟁의 불씨가 되었는지 짚어봅니다.
